World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are an essential aspect of preparing your character. Upgrades increase the base damage as well as enchantments of items.
They also provide bonuses and enhancements. They are available from the Blacksmith.
The upgrade button can be found on any item. Every item recycled adds a level to the upgrade gauge.
Weapons
When an item is upgraded, it gains an initial damage bonus and an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. The weapon could also be upgraded with a number of upgrade components that provide additional effects or attributes, and some have distinct cosmetic effects. These upgrades can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools. They generally require that the item has an upgrade slot available and meets certain requirements. Once a weapon or armor piece has an upgrade component in it, it is able to be upgraded but the prior upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be recovered using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, Ascended Salvage tool, or a high-tier salvaging tool for an item.
In addition to the basic upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded using a Calibration Attribute that improves certain stats such as Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This is done via the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. Depending on the weapon tier, this can be done up to four times.
Once the weapon has reached max upgrade, it can be reforged with a number of different types of upgrades to increase certain stats or add bonuses and effects. These upgrades can all be applied simultaneously and their effects will vary depending on how rare the weapon is.
There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area and Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons, and Somber Smithing Stones for modifying the damage a weapon can cause.
In general, it's advisable to increase the damage of your weapon first. Then you can increase your armor defense, and then those secondary stats that are required by your build. It is not uncommon to see melee Druids upgrade their weapons before upgrading other equipment. This will increase DPS. This is particularly relevant to enchantments that can be very efficient in increasing the damage of a weapon and other stats.
Armor
Item Upgrades let players increase the stats base of certain armor pieces weapons, trinkets, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have other effects, such as an increase in damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item Upgrades can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors, through loot drops or as rewards from quests.
Armor can be improved by visiting the Armorer NPC, and spending the appropriate currency. Most of the time, a piece of armor can be upgraded to the next level after an upgrade is applied. This is the case for all types of armor, though some items cannot be upgraded in any way (such as the starter armor in Great Sky Island).
Most armor upgrades offer a small increase to the item's defense or strength. However, some upgrade components can offer significant increases to defense or strength, particularly when upgrading an item that is epic.
In item upgrader to increasing the base defense of an item, a few upgrades also provide specific abilities that can be activated while wearing a piece of armor. These abilities can be helpful in combat, for instance providing a boost to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades can have passive effects that are useful for example, the ability to reduce damage while wearing armor, or increasing the chance of avoiding an attack.
Upgrades to armor may require multiple attempts, depending on the type. If a player wishes to upgrade Steelclash armor to Dragonscale The first attempt will result in a new Dragonscale armor with a defense base between 59-67. The second attempt will result in a Dragonscale armor with a base defense of between 67 and 77.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild allows players to upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To do this it is necessary to visit each of the four locations known as Great Fairy Fountains in the game. Each location has a powerful fair who can improve a piece of armor for you.
Contrary to popular belief, armor is not useless in The Division 2. The truth is that some armors have very significant boosts to poison or curse, fire, or magic damage reduction, which makes them extremely useful for certain builds. There are many other ways to improve armor stats besides upgrading armor, such as using the engineer attribute to increase armor penetration or the challenger trait to decrease total weight.
Potion
A potion can be upgraded by putting it in a brewing stand to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks another tier of potion effects, and can be re-used to unlock more potencies.
The potion also gets a custom color code, which the player can select via /give, and that affects area-of-effect clouds and arrows created by the potions. In Bedrock Edition, the custom color code of the potion is also applied to the effects of the potion's particle effects.
The water bottle, a common, thick and awkward potions now have a brand new texture for brewing. In the Creative Inventory the potion healing and weakness have been added. There are lingering potions available that can be made with splash potions or dragon breath and a thick pot with the status effect Mining Fatigue (duration 4 hours). Bug Tracker is the place for you to report issues with this patch.
Trinket

A trinket is a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. This can be a ring, necklace or even a tiny flag to mark a boat's lateen yard. It can also be a gilded trinket that is attached to the mast of a vessel.
This bizarre trinket seems to be influencing the residents of this maze by making them more prevalent. At its current level the trinket makes all types of mimic Xx more popular and gives every floor the chance to have an ebony-colored mimic. Upgrades to this trinket will cost an amount of energy.
The magic of the enchanted Scepter appears to affect the dungeon, increasing its likelihood of generating grass and water. This trinket, at its current level will cause X% of regular floors to be filled with grass or water. It does not affect enchantments, glyphs, cursed armor or weapons, or items that are generated to help solve the dangers in rooms.
While it appears like the normal eye of a newt this mysterious item appears to be affecting your vision in ways that go beyond simply reducing your field of view. This trinket, in its current level, boosts the health benefits of drinking healing potions and wells of life by X% and also gives mind sight to enemies within the Y tile. This trinket is not stacked with the Increased Senses.
Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after completing the Mastery Cave. You will find them when you defeat Monsters and in chests and crates. They are not available in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.
If you have a trinket which requires upgrading put it in the Anvil to upgrade it. This will have an unintended effect on the trinket, either prolonging its life or enhancing its effects. You can reforge the trinket as often as you'd like however it will always be able to produce the same effect.
You can upgrade your Trinkets in the Alchemy Station by placing them into a Magical Catalyst. It will cost you 6 energy and boost the trinket's power by only a tiny amount.
